Downtown West Innovation District is a collaborative vision to transform Indianapolis' west side by reconnecting West Street, downtown, IU and Purdue, IU Health, the convention and stadium district, White River State Park, and surrounding neighborhoods. Led by the Indy Chamber with the Rethink Coalition and other public, institutional, and private-sector partners, the initiative combines transportation, public realm, placemaking, and economic-development strategies.
REA is serving as the lead design and planning partner, helping to develop the physical framework and conceptual strategies needed to reconnect these assets and unlock future investment. The current concept encompasses approximately 5.7 miles of proposed roadway, multimodal and trail improvements and is being advanced through ongoing feasibility, engineering, economic, and financing studies.
