White River State Park Amphitheater Breaks Ground

White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis has broken ground on a $17 million amphitheater expansion. REA served as Landscape Architect and Civil Engineer on this project that will transform the current temporary concert facility into a state-of-the-art, outdoor venue complete with a permanent stage, ADA accessible fixed seating, and new restroom facilities. The design integrates natural materials to complement the existing labyrinth of limestone quarry blocks, and it honors the parks commission goal of preserving as many existing trees as possible. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2020.
