REA has been working with the City of Anderson to develop their 2025–2029 Parks and Recreation Master Plan to guide the enhancement and expansion of its park system over the next five years. This plan aims to improve recreational facilities, promote environmental stewardship, and ensure equitable access to green spaces for all residents.
Key Objectives include: 1) Facility Improvements: Upgrade existing parks with modern amenities, including playgrounds, restrooms, and sports facilities. 2) Environmental Initiatives: Implement tree planting programs and habitat restoration projects to enhance biodiversity and ecological health. 3) Community Engagement: Involve residents in the planning process through public meetings and feedback sessions to align park developments with community needs. 4) Accessibility Enhancements: Ensure all park facilities are accessible to individuals of all abilities, promoting inclusivity across the park system.
The plan serves as a strategic roadmap for the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, outlining priorities and actions to be undertaken from 2025 through 2029. It emphasizes the importance of community involvement and sustainable practices in developing a vibrant and inclusive park system.
